About The Artwork

This painting is created on a beveled panel that gives the work a float affect. That bevel is painted a cadmium red that gives a faint glow on to the wall. The painting is inspired by my time living in NYC. Street signs, graffiti, poster, shop windows and the multicultural influences. Bright, vivid and optimistic. The work is a graphic story that reads with a fresh sense of modernity and oxygen and, hopefully, joy. The piece is meant to pull you in to notice stratified color relationships and pattern on patter -- much like a New York City street that keeps you walking to see what's up the next block. Rendered in acrylic, spray paint and casein on a fresco secco surface. The piece also has a great surface interest. Many thanks for you time and interest. My work has exhibited in a few museums and is in significant collections worldwide including Lambert International Airport, NYU, the Mayo Clinic to name a few.
