This original abstract portrait is inspired by the drag queen Dusty Ray Bottoms. I love the creativity and versatility of such performers, and this portrait captured a moment of inspiration I felt after watching RPDR. I wanted to create an abstract portrait, fused with my love of a textured background as shown in my other works. The hand stretched canvas is layered with oil and acrylic paints, applied with brushes and palette knives. The vibrancy of this painting catches the eye, especially with the contrast of red to green.
