About The Artwork
This painting is in my locale, a place I pass most days. I was interested in finding a way to make the illuminated bus stop the potential drama centre stage, whilst getting a balance with the colours at dusk. I wanted to show the road sweeping round and beyond, but also the mix in the urban landscape that you get in London of vegetation and trees softening the view. Incidentally this place is connected to the great director Hitchcock as he was born nearby, and even the Pokemon Go craze uses this site as just beyond the bus stop on the building wall is large mural of Hitchcock's face.
