An exercise in editing--coming back, again and again, with a discerning eye. What stays, what goes? I made this painting over an extended period of time, constantly painting over the previous version until I arrived at a place where the energy of layers working together and against each other felt harmonious. Continuance amidst uncertainty. Complexity of texture, value, color, composition evolves into amalgamation that contains softness despite disarray.
