About The Artwork

Coltrane This painting gave me the opportunity to create a virtual reality world Where jazz legend John Coltrane is reunited with his son Ravi Coltrane in an intimate father and son meeting. This didn’t actually happen, but I believe would have happened if John had lived. John passed away when Ravi was around 2 years old and over the years, Ravi, in his own right, has become a formidable jazz master. My painting brings the two men together at an upscale jazz lounge when they’re right around the same age and in the prime of their careers. This room filled with light offered me the perfect opportunity to add some artistic fashion by giving John a stylish suit and Ravi an urban contemporary shirt reflecting their individual styles. Sitting on a backlit black couch, they engage in deep conversation about the music John helped to create and explore where Ravi looks to take it next. I can see these two men sitting, laughing, talking about their tours, people they’ve played with, and all the ideas of where they’re going to take the music next. Ravi has become a very successful jazz musician, but in this painting, I offer him the opportunity to converse, laugh, and spend time with his father. Coltrane is an original acrylic painting on stretchered canvas that is part of my continuing Everyday Black series. • Acrylic Painting on Stretchered Canvas • 30" H x 24" W x 1.5" D | 76 cm H x 61 cm W x 4 cm D • Painting Signed In Lower Left Front And Also On The Lower Left Back • A signed Certificate of Authenticity from my studio will be included with this painting and all the materials that were used to complete it. • The Finish: Gloss Archival Varnish with UV Protection Please contact me if you have any questions about this artwork or any other one of my paintings! Artfully yours, Vincent

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I am a second generation expressionist painter with a focus on creating paintings that embody movement, energy, and luminous light. My work puts cognitive thinking in the foreground, letting the viewer discover things along the way. I paint each artwork with a mix of expressionism and abstraction, with bold, colorful flowing lines. These works retell history, bringing back special people and places that have been misplaced, forgotten or unknown. I am interested in awakening cognitive thought, harnessing creative energy and to research the limits of universal thinking.
