About The Artwork
This work is inspired by a Cenote, for the Mayan culture, cenotes were considered sources of life, in addition to providing vital liquid, they were an entrance to another world and a center of communion with the gods. It is acrylic with casein glue and gesso on cotton duck canvas. The canvas is stretched on a wooden frame and artwork is ready to hang. Framing is not required. It is signed on the front and on the back and is delivered with a certificate of authenticity.

Annabel Andrews was born in the Isle of Wight in 1940 now lives and works in El Escorial near Madrid Spain, where the colour, light and volumes of the mountains inspire her work. As also her friendship with the late Spanish artists Pablo Palazuelo and Jose Guerrero. By preparing her own canvases with home made casein glue base and zinc white the work is light and luminous ready for applying acrylic colours.
