Candy Painting

“Candy” was created using watercolours on paper. Anyone who knows me knows my favourite colour is pink and I definitely without a doubt wanted to incorporate a pink/purple themed marble into this collection because it wouldn’t be right for me without one! I loved making this piece because it was so light to create and brought me back to when I was a little girl playing with my favourite pink marbles. My initial intention with this collection was to convey feelings and emotions through the colours and shapes within each painting whilst creating something visually pleasing and that would create a statement in any room. I was inspired by work that I had done years before at school, where I studied hyper realism. A lot of those artists did work surrounding marbles because of the intricate details, of which I have experimented with. I wanted to create similar concepts in this artwork and the others in this collection but instead used watercolour to give it more of a pop art feel. I hope will view each artwork and feel what I was trying to convey between the piece and its title.
