I wanted to explore the way these different surfaces are treated by the light, and I enjoy the forms made in the Harbour structures, the weathering and encroachment of seaweed and the like, into the forms.
This was painted at 04:30 in the morning, and there was no one going around at the time. This was at odds with the heavily populated Harbour.
This is produced from charcoal and acrylic paint to create a more realistic surface with the cement, and to create the under drawing.

I grew up around the coast lines of England and Scotland, and spent 18 years working offshore. When this career came to an end I returned to paintiing and drew upon my experiences in my landscape. I work to convey my emotions to the viewer, allowing them to feel the portrayed landscape as I did.
