About The Artwork

This is one that I had around for a while and I recently dusted it off and looked at it again. I gave it a few finishing touches and decided it was ready for this spot. I remember painting it when I was first becoming interested in abstraction, and I just started out placing colors on the canvas, then towers of earth tones started looking something like canyon formations, and of course a sky solidified, as it so often does in my "abstracts". I'm not sure why I titled it "Bones of a Giant", but it had something to do with the quietness of the scene, and the bleached out canyon colors. Since then, my abstracts have become more abstracted, and mostly painted with a knife. But I still like abstracts that have the softness and the thin layers of my brushwork. It's painted on standard stretched canvas with no staples on the edges, in acrylic paints. The colors are gold, rusty brown, terra cotta, plum, pale blues and beige.

I am a a visual artist living and working in Cumming, Georgia, in the U.S. I studied art in college and have had my work in various galleries and shows down through the years, but primarily have sold through various online venues in the last five years. I wish I could say I have a consistent style and focus right now, but my art is in a confused state of change right now as I approach the end of my parenting years and face my "what do I want to do next?" years. I love many different subjects, especially landscape and florals, and my style tends to be soft realism which borders on impressionism or at times, even abstraction. So enjoy browsing through my various pieces of art, and know that they represent views that I love to share about the world, love, and heaven.
