Awakening Painting

Painting: Watercolor, Ink on Paper. Title: Awakening The painting brings a dramatic, minimal and modern mood to your interior. Inspired by my recent trip to Scotland. A lonely walk along a wetland in the very first moments of the morning when the light on the water starts to give that effect of suspension between sky and earth and the sky is still so dark and intense. To creation of my watercolours painting is a performance where my role is only to control the forces of nature: air, gravity, water. This because I don't paint with brushes but I let the watercolour pigments flow while I move the paper in a controlled manner to help the colour follow a certain direction. The other thing I control is the quantity of liquid watercolours so that I can create from tiny to wide areas of colour. The lines you see on the paper are made with my fingernails in the moment when I feel the painting is almost finished. These scratched made when the paper is still wet make the lines dark as the pigments sit in the paper grooves. The elaboration of a piece of work requires a constant journey between control, concentration and letting go. My purpose is to focus on the essence and the emotional outcome of the subject to create a visual poetry ...
