About The Artwork
This work is an old series from 2002, which I made with charcoal brushstrokes on the cotton canvas prepared with pigments, liquid watercolor with casein glue. It is a minimalist work that is inspired by asteroids, space research and photos of the cosmos is a topic that interests me. I tried to simplify the composition as much as possible and stay with the atmosphere and essence of the moment. It is a work that is based on reality, but has evolved visually and can be considered abstract.

Annabel Andrews was born in the Isle of Wight in 1940 now lives and works in El Escorial near Madrid Spain, where the colour, light and volumes of the mountains inspire her work. As also her friendship with the late Spanish artists Pablo Palazuelo and Jose Guerrero. By preparing her own canvases with home made casein glue base and zinc white the work is light and luminous ready for applying acrylic colours.
