Acadia is a two tone, 70’s inspired textured portrait. She is striking in black and white and makes a bold statement in a room. The white areas are textured with a plaster finish and are slightly raised compared to the black, which has been painted flat on the wood panel. The painting and the texture continue around the sides of the painting, so leaving it unframed looks great. You could also frame it with a floating frame for a more finished look. Angela Seear's female portraits are slightly abstracted so that they don't represent one specific person. Angela wants the viewer to recognize people they personally know and admire in the portrait, so that the painting has more personal meaning to them. In its essence, the painting represents the beauty and strength of all women. Acadia has a strong presence in a room and brings a retro 70’s vibe with it. The two textures create contrast as you move past the painting, with the light hitting the surface in different ways. This painting is painted with artist quality acrylics and plaster medium on an exhibition grade wood panel. It is wired and ready to hang or be framed to suit your interior. It arrives shipped in a box. The painting would sit well within a number of different interior styles and is a striking conversation piece in a room.

Angela Seear creates emotive landscapes through the use of color and layering. She is inspired by light and color and how they relate to each other. We all have reactions and relationships to color and she strives to bring greater meaning into her work by exploring these combinations and the feelings they produce. Straddling the line between abstraction, expressionism and realism, her work allows the viewer to be drawn into all aspects of the subject. Born in the UK but raised in many different countries, she brings her many views of the world into her painting. Her work focuses on landscapes, abstracts and nudes.
