About The Artwork
A Vision Splendid is an iteration of a series of paintings from a plein air painting trip to Hill End, an old gold mining town 4 hours west of Sydney, Australia. The town has become something of an artists retreat. The dirt out this way is red. I see the vivid, saturated colour in the small flowers, in the bark of the trees, the leaves. A contemporary use of colour, form, marks a revised reflection of the human condition.
