About The Artwork
This painting stems from my constant inquiry into perception and context. How does one view oneself; How do others; How does society; What contexts alter these perceptions? I often work in may layers, coming back to dry canvases and choosing what to keep, what to paint over to arrive at a new point. These layers symbolize the layers of being, of self, of time, of perception. I hope to invite questions in the mind of the viewer.
