About The Artwork

I have always found inspiration in mountains and their beauty, harshness and magnificence, the play of light and shadows and the changing skies. The mountain motif has naturally surfaced inside me as I stay confined at home for the second month. The artwork was inspired by a travel to majesty Canaries island La Gomera, in Spain. The print depicts Gran Canaria landscape - mountains rocks and clouds in the sky. Title: The Sky Over the Mountains Image size: 35 x 50 cm Created: 2019 Materials: black charcoal on heavy weight paper Not framed Frames in the photos for visualization properties only.

Asta Kulikauskaitė Krivickienė is a Lithuanian painter born in1973 in Kaunas. She graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts in 2000 and holds a master's degree in fine arts, painting speciality. Currently residing in Differdange, Luxembourg, Asta gained recognition for her exploration of the female body in Lithuania during the period following its independence. Her recent work draws inspiration from nature, reflecting her her own identity. Drawing upon her imagination, memories of travel, sketches, and photographic material, she portrays a novel, enchanting reality, diverging from the literal representation of landscapes, becoming her inner landscapes. Asta's abstract paintings often feature motifs of mountains, flora, and the ocean, created through experimental techniques with acrylic and oil. The purity of painting and the interplay of colors are crucial to her. She also engages in traditional graphics, producing series of black and white drawings in ink and charcoal. Asta has exhibited widely since 1997 in various countries, including Luxembourg, Lithuania, Germany, Belgium, Finland and Poland. In 2020, she was awarded an Individual Scholarship grant by the Lithuanian Council for Culture. Her artworks are held in the collection of the Luxembourg National Library andare cherished by private collectors worldwide. Asta is a member of Empreinte Atelier in Luxembourg since 2021.
