About The Artwork

This is an imagined portrait of a nomadic tribal human at the transition between the end of the Pleistocene epoch and the beginning of the holocene in geological terms, which correlates with the transition from the Palaeolithic to the Mesolithic era in anthropology. The climate change at the end of the younger dryas gave our ancestors new opportunities which acted as a catalyst for cultural and cognitive development. This drawing celebrates the optimism at the dawn of the rise of man.

“Art is to console those who are broken by life.” ― Vincent van Gogh. I make art to explore the meaningful and to escape the meaningless. I have always found reassuring solace in art and artwork. I am a university graduate (BA Hons Art History 2:1) and have worked as an archivist and museum assistant for several museums, and as a gallery assistant at several London art galleries. I've had a lifelong interest in art and am published in journals, blogs and books (International Contemporary Masters Volume 11).
