About The Artwork
For me as an Austrian artist Egon Schiele is one of the foremost icons of 20th century and contemporary drawing and one of my heroes in the advancement of visual art. This sketch came into being during one of the tutorials in my workshop. It was intended for demonstration purposes and then became an independent little experiment looking at Egon Schiele’s striking drawing technique. While Schiele often used pencil or black chalk and gouache, I chose graphite and oil pastels applied with a bristle brush. This drawing comes in an off-white mount.
