About The Artwork

Technique: The act and process of drawing for me is similar to playing an impromptu performance on a violin or guitar. I trace lines with charcoal on the subject following the path my eyes take. Lines where my gaze swiftly sweeps across are drawn just as quickly, and where my eyes linger longer, the charcoal lingers too. I strive to infuse each and every stroke with the genuine impressions and emotions of that moment. Parts that make a strong impression are marked with thick and bold strokes, while intricate details are drawn with thin, wavy lines layered upon each other. Process: The Allegro series is an impromptu performance with charcoal, focusing more on the process than the outcome. This is because the subject, myself, and the canvas each take turns naturally leading and assisting, fully revealing their own individuality. The conceptual and abstract elements must meet by chance and harmonize. It's important to maintain the flow that has been established and continue progressing. At whatever stage I decide to stop drawing, the traces left until that point must be honest enough. I should find joy in observing the collision and harmony between the accidental marks and the pieces that needed to be portrayed. Just as a musician becomes a part of the song they play, I wish to immerse myself in the Allegro as I draw it. And just as music conveys emotions to its listeners, I too want to effectively convey the feelings of the moments I captured to those who see my artwork.
