'Roe Day 5' is part of a photo series I created on June 24, 2022, when the U.S. Supreme Court handed down the appalling Dobbs v. Jackson decision. It is 1 of a 14 part photo series, documenting the immediate reaction, at a political activism protest in West Hollywood, CA. This particular piece is of a woman listening to an impassioned public speaker, with concern on her face. The sign in her hand is one that displays concern about the future of the country. This piece also hung and displayed in the Ontario Museum of History & Art in Ontario, CA. It seems unreal to me that so many years later, women are still fighting for equal pay in the work place, and the right to control their own bodies. I know many women who have had the unfortunate trauma of needing to terminate their pregnancies, including my own mother. Activists like this have my gratitude for their fight. Back alley abortions and wire hangers are the result of not having a 'choice'. Women who hold these activist events and marches have my utmost respect, and I hope my piece reflects the gratitude and respect I have for them. An example of Post Colonial art style.

Ricardo Tomasz is an artist in photography, painting, collage, video, performance art, and occasionally body hair. He was born and raised in Hungary, to a Hungarian mother, and a Spaniard father. They died when he was 16, but their passing allowed him to tour and study at some of the finest Art Universities in Europe. He came to America, thrusting himself into the art scene. He was in and out, in and out, and in and out of America over several years, until finally settling in Los Angeles as an artist, designer, and occasional human crosswalk sign. He is a valuable contributor to the Greater and Grander Artist collective.
