Born in 1968, Budapest, Tamás Szigeti is an active exponent of Hungarian metaphysical painting.
Initially enrolled in the Hungarian University of Applied Arts, Faculty of Interior Design in Budapest where he graduated in 1994, soon he turned toward autonomous visual production. After a period of installation and performance activities between 1992 and 1996, he moved to Mexico City where he gained M.A. degree in Painting at the San Carlos Academy of the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plasticas de la UNAM in 2000.
Between 2006 and 2010 he completed his DLA studies in Painting at the University of Pécs, Faculty of Music and Visual Arts. He is currently working on his doctoral thesis.
Since his 2000 return to his native Budapest, he has been creating painterly work, exposing regularly in Budapest-based galleries and venues. His works are to be found in important private collections.
Between 2001 and 2009 he gave classes as a drawing instructor at Corvin Rajziskola, Budapest.
