About The Artwork

Xu Bin's original oil painting, "Parallel World IV," invites the viewer to imagine a world beyond our own, where apples grow in the sea and civilization has reached new heights. This fascinating work of art raises important questions about the possibility of parallel worlds and the existence of other beings like us. At the center of the painting, an upward ladder serves as a metaphor for the human desire to climb higher, while the striped decorations in front of the characters‘s eyes hint at their past memories or the reflection of rich scenes in their eyes. The raised hand of the girl in front symbolizes the upward development of human civilization. The sea in this parallel world is not just a body of water but also a place where apples grow. When they ripen, they float to the surface, carrying a special meaning of hope. A small boat working in the distance illuminates the apples on the bottom of the sea, and two beautiful girls nearby dance with joy at the sight of them. Through this painting, Xu Bin presents a convincing vision of an imaginary parallel world that is not only his own fantasy but also an expression of his hopes for our future. The highly civilized world he envisions is full of hope and joy, where people work hard to climb upward and reach new heights of achievement.

I was born in 1969 in Guang'an, Sichuan, China. I graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Southwest Normal University and became a freelance artist afterwards. My early works were mainly oil paintings, influenced by Impressionist and Post-Impressionist artists such as Monet and Seurat. Through continuous learning and creative practice, I gradually integrated the artistic essence of Matisse, Picasso, Dali, Chagall and other artists, and combined with my own Chinese cultural background to develop my own mature artistic style.
