Inspiration behind this painting and the Tesla cycle overall, came for me when I contemplated about the great genius Nikola Tesla and his revolutionary desire to give free electricity to the citizens of the earth. His love for pigeons and especially one white dove (perhaps not so well known), adds emotion, empathy and mysticism to such prominent scientific figure. As the writer Matthieu Ricard would say: “Without a wisdom bred of altruism, science and politics are double-edged swords, ethics is blind, emotions run wild, and spirituality becomes illusory.” In my work as an artist, I am fascinated by and interested to explore varieties of subjective views and reality since childhood. I am visually exploring possibilities of many viewpoints, perspectives, human potential and its impact on the whole. I have always been inspired by people who have managed to impact positively many people's lives. My hope is that my two ongoing collections will inspire all of us to find the same greatness in ourselves, as well. The painting is on canvas, hand-signed and without a frame.

Sonja Bela was born and raised in Serbia and after her formal undergraduate education she has received her BFA from the Buscharest National University of Fine Arts, Department of Painting. She has had both group and solo exhibitions at galleries in Bucharest, Romania, Pancevo and Belgrade, Serbia. In my work as an artist, I am fascinated by variety of subjective views and the nature of reality since childhood. I like to visually explore possibilities of other viewpoints, perspectives, human potential and its impact on the whole. Inspired by people who manage to influence positive change in other people’s lives, I am dedicated to intuitively inspire inner joy and compassion through beauty, color and playfulness. I have spent many years working and travelling near seas, collecting ideas and inspiration. In addition to my work as an artist, I am a student in yogic and Buddhist traditions, exploring the nature of reality and human mind. My major influences range from American art and artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat to Himalayan and Asian art.
