About The Artwork

'Freedom' refers to freedom from restraint, oppression, and domination, depending on the reality of individuals and groups and the circumstances of the times in which they live, physical and thought freedom from the surveillance and censorship of specific institutions, and economic freedom in the capitalist society in which I live. I think it is accepted and used in various meanings. And above all, I think that'freedom' in the 21st century modern society is approaching more meaningfully to individuals than to groups. In my view, 'freedom' is a moment in which the intangible property of'time' given to an individual is not affected by society and can only be used as one's own will. Based on this thought, first of all, I wanted to communicate with you through a more fundamental story, looking at'freedom' in the big frame, the first chapter of my painting. For our individuals living in the modern society of the 21st century, the clouds of freedom exploding from the naked person symbolized as a physical prison called society and exploding from their head. As shown in the picture, this may be a form of a person who has a self free from the gaze of society and others, or it may be a freedom of thinking that cannot be prevented by any means from repressed social customs. 'Freedom' means a naked person means that you can come in a variety of forms and meanings depending on your current situation and reality, across age, gender, race, and borders. As I paint, I project myself as an infinitely weak human being tied to the material form of the body to the naked person, and although I am bound by the material form of the body, the freedom of thinking through my paint beyond any material and mental boundaries. I wanted to express that I am living and breathing freely in this world. My paint now sending a message to all of you who are viewing my work through various media beyond the time and space constraints. What is the'freedom' that you feel when looking at art work?
