Bagalamukhi's Light is part of the collection entitled "The Greatness of Yantras" which includes ten Goddesses and one God. The idea of this series of paintings started from my yoga practice, meditation, using the yantra as a support. The cosmic feminine power Bagalamukhi has a capacity to stun, stop or paralyze. Beauty can cause us to lose our senses and become dumbstruck. These are aspects of the Goddess Bagalamukhi, who represents the hypnotic power of the Goddess. Bagalamukhi is one whose face has the power to control or conquer. It is also the power to hypnotise others and get them to act according to our will. I consider the most mysterious visual of this series of paintings, the inspiration comes in the form of a dream. A conversation with God! "I was walking down the corridor through the breezy hallway of the old High School from my small town Satu Mare. Memories started running towards me like children running free and wild through a barley field. I kept walking down through the corridor and then went upstairs to the first floor. Beyond the rusty door, the canvas was waiting silently for me, an encounter we both hoped for. The sun was playing hide and seek outside sending soft, golden rays upon my face. The old easel was still able to carry another story. The canvas was looking at me peacefully. Then, a voice broke the silence: - Now, I am telling you what you will paint. It will be a wonderful painting. The voice sounded familiar. - I will do as you say- I replied back, in a whisper, standing still. - You will paint black thundercloud. I raised my eyebrows, surprised. - Black thundercloud?! - Yes. Bad weather filled with lightening. Can you hear the thunder? - Yes, I can hear it clearly! I could see and hear the harsh weather. - You will paint once again doves, but blue small ones. - Ok, I got it. - Do you know how they rest on the electric wires? - Yes, I know. Then I asked: - What Power is it? - She is Bagalamukhi"

Romania
I'm a contemporary Romanian artist, creative and passionate of symbols and stories. I paint from my home studio in Bucharest, and also I'm teaching children the basics of visual art: shape, proportion, volume, shadow and light. I graduate University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca. Painting and practicing yoga for several years, I tried to find a simple way to associate symbols found in mythology and folklore for a visual that is easy to decipher for the modern human. I always find support in decoding and bringing to life the symbols by using ''The Dictionary of Symbols'' by Alain Gheerbrant and Jean Chevalier. This book is always present in my art studio. The compositions revel symbols and stories based on dreams, signs of life, and memories, transferred on canvas in a decorative way with great attention to details.
