This is a painting of a group of i4004s. They are 3, in/on a motherboard that they perceive as a marsh. The microprocessor Intel 4001 (i4004)is a 4-bit central processing unit (CPU). It was the first commercially produced microprocessor, released by Intel Corporation in 1971. This my second painting with i4004 as a motive. I use it, because in retrospect, we know that it’s release marked the dawn of a new era, that of personal computers. It and that isbeautiful. It is painted on a mono print I have made on thick Arches watercolour paper. I have added some collage bits (mulberry paper) with text in some areas, and gold-mica paint for the legs of the i4004s. I painted it in the autumn of 2022, and considered completed in January 2023. Details: Size: W 51 cm, H 37 cm Materials: acrylic and collage on paper. ID: 2023-002-building-i4004-a2
