River Lewis is a multi-disciplinary artist living in Vernon, Canada. Working in themes of belonging, dominance, and people versus garbage, Lewis explores how people treat each other as treasure, ordinary, or garbage. His exploration with roadside garbage inversely includes garbage as a living entity which is deserving of consideration and respect. Through digital manipulation, photography, painting, drawing, and writing, Lewis elevates garbage to non-garbage such that he views garbage as people.
