About The Artwork
I am interested in using the iPhone as a tool to create art. I created a nylon flag that reads “txt me when you get here.” A text message sent from a smart phone is embedded with geo-specific information that is laced with GPS coordinates, time stamp, and encoded information. The banal, but ubiquitous text message asks the viewer when they have reached this geo-located space. The flag therefore, presides over a domain, which has duel meaning with the virtual space of the internet and cell reception, as well as the physical geography of the space in which it is shown.
