About The Artwork

Note: The sculpture can be positioned on its base at any desired angle. In the photos, it is shifted about 10-15 degrees. This mixed media sculpture is a combination of fired and painted clay, cast concrete with embedded steel (linear components), steel, and die formed copper. The forms are suggestive of egg-like nuclei, delicately interconnected and balanced. The forms reveal their "cores", as they display their dissected interiors. As an artist, I'm continuously interested and fascinated with the internal and underlying patterns that can be found within natural objects. The greatest source of inspiration for my work is the natural environment. These patterns often signify growth, division, decay, movement, and attraction. The natural balance that can be found between organic chaos and systematic geometry especially intrigues me.
