Sculpture, Precious Materials on Wood
Size: 41.3 W x 76.8 H x 3.9 D in
Ships in a Crate
Sculpture inspired by the ongoing debate about Scottish Independence and its possible effect on the name Great Britain and the British Union Jack flag. Stands 6.5ft x 3.5ft and as seen in the picture, it can be fixed to the Wall. The screws can be hidden once fixed in place for long term display, or can be laid flat. Painted in the national flags of England, Wales and Scotland, with the only feature being that of Hadrian's Wall, which resides in England and not Scotland, as many people think. The weight of the sculpt will need to be checked as it is on display until 20th April 2012. So maybe a little less than the 40Kg stated. Can deliver within the UK.

Hello, Having been rather busy these last 20 years, making fine art historical Models and layouts for clients around the globe, I've just taken in April the cliche plunge into making art. On a creative level I have a keen interest in the abstract, as I like the engagement this brings with any subject, be it sculpture, a picture or just seen in everyday life. My Inspiration comes from world culture, society issues, politics and current affairs; so quite a good mix of potential subjects. I do enjoy keeping in touch with the world in terms of what's going on in it and it seems in 2012, there is a whole lot happening which lends itself to art. My first works will be forms of sculpture, using the skills I've learnt in model and terrain making, but I'm also going to produce some photographic work. My first sculpt which I've uploaded a couple of pictures of, is based on the debate around Scottish Independence and its possible impact, should it go through, on the name of Great Britain and our Union Jack flag. Its a simple clean cut piece, designed to be very visual without any clutter so as to draw people into it by use of the national flag colours. The name of it is - Team GB ? and comes from the British Olympic teams name - Team GB ( Team Great Britain). I'm looking to make my pieces as interactive as possible, in terms of getting feedback and reactions from those that see them. I have a number of other projects I'm now working on and info and pictures will be seen over on my blog and will be posted here when complete.
