About The Artwork

I’ve filled 2,5m red heart-shaped carcass with strands of empty or sugar-filled glass containers reminiscent of the blood circulatory system. ‘Sugar Heart' weighs approximately 80 kilograms. Around 30 square meters of wood veneer, nearly 100 glass containers and 12 kilograms of sugar were used to create this art object. The piece was equipped with a specially programmed micro-computer for flashing light bulbs, reproducing human heartbeat.
