About The Artwork

Introducing an original ceramic sculpture, meticulously fired twice, carefully glazed, and adorned with oil paint. Limited to a maximum of eight pieces, this is the first piece: "Ria." Ria is a young artist whom I met last year - 2023 - at an art camp in Hungary. She consistently wore torn black clothing and donned intense makeup, which initially struck me as overwhelming. As I tend to find it challenging to form new friendships, I initially struggled to connect with her, given her stark contrast to myself and my friends. However, after spending a few days with her, I came to realize that her outward appearance was merely a façade. Deep down, she remains a 17-year-old young lady who radiates joy at the sight of a water lily on a lake. Interestingly, she chose to paint water lilies rather than the morbid subjects one might expect based on her attire. 😊 I decided to sculpt her in a manner that captures the essence of her dreamlike state and her unique style, while focusing solely on her portrait. My hope is that I have successfully conveyed the essence of Ria. Enjoy! The dimensions of this captivating sculpture are 46 x 32 x 23 cm, making it a distinctive and thought-provoking addition to any art collection.

"The Hungarian artist Beata Belanszky Demko is inspired, at a young age, by the image, which she discovers through her father's profession as a photographer. Later, she found a more final form of free expression in painting, which she shares with several artists all over the world in the context of the "Transylvanian Artists Community" during gatherings or collective exhibitions. The artist's gesture is at first guided by a feeling of peace, harmony and silence as she paints. She is intuitive and her creation unfolds as her imagination expands. The process therefore is what is most at stake: let the colours express themselves, the shapes come together, let the paint come to life through the emotions of painting. Oil or acrylic, paint brushes, brushes or knives, the artist can use her tools to explore her deeper self and become an observer or witness to the artistic elaboration of her creation, to what she calls the "miracle" of her work. Her compositions are fluid, transparent, dare to confront adversaries, to mix geometric elements with supple shapes, muted tones with luminous shades, matter with transparency. The dreamlike landscapes or sunsets that emerge from her works are the reflection of the human being in all its complexity and greater truth." - Carré d'Artistes Gallery
