Folded paper Blair stole this torn out page from an exercise book - shredding paper had been a popular activity, usually with the purpose of making bedding. As was usual, he took what had been a flat sheet of paper, to his home, but on this occasion, he created long straight folds. We can see three such folds. How did he achieve it? What might have influenced a change of approach? The localised bleeding of ink and course surface, at the centre and highest point of the sculpture, would suggest that this area had been rested upon and that there had been some movement over it, though not so much as to flatten the piece. . The texture contrasts with the smoothness of the unaffected paper and the bled ink makes straight lines appear more organic.
