Modelled in wax and natural materials found on my walks in the Suffolk countryside, this figure was created using the lost wax process to cast in bronze, as a single addition, first evolution of the subject in my practice. Inspired by the tales of dog men and wolf men which have been a staple of myth and legend for centuries across most cultures.

My Practice revolves around the analysis of the human hybrids purpose within our cultures, by combing and distorting the human form with the anatomy of other beings, I aim to forge new beings whose pretext like that of the hybrids from folklore and myth, is to embody the darker aspects of human nature (such as the Minotaur from Greek legend embodies aggression and bestial desires). I cast my own work by hand personally, by using bronze I am linking the chaotic and fractured nature of my creations to the very alloy from which they have been created, having been birthed from firey violence I believe these hybrids earn their right to exist. I am a Suffolk based artist having studied Fine Art specifically sculpture at Norwich University of the Arts from 2015 to 2019. It was at NUA that I became intrigued by bronze casting and the alchemical nature of the metal itself, its versatility and entropy. Having found a fascination with bronze casting I pursued foundry assistants position for the sculptor Laurence Edwards where I have studied the art of traditional lost wax casting process, an experience which to this day continues to influence my treatment of form and technique.
