About The Artwork
This sculpture was commissioned to provide a visual and aural focal point in a garden. Theresa was born and brought up in Cascais, Portugal. Cascais means 'mountain of shells' hence a scallop to symbolise her. Peter comes from a line of distinguished race horse trainers, hence the horseshoe. My concept and design was executed by Adam Barrett (horseshoe / metal work), Richard Grassby (shell / stone carving), Richard Evans (column / moulding), and Bob Young (ground works /construction).
