The pattern of this ceramic tile/panel is based on the design a Frank Lloyd Wright stained glass panel. After the first firing the plaque was painted using a wide range of underglazes and coloured glazes. The work was then covered in a clear glaze before being fired for a second time. The work is designed ideally to be displayed on a plate holder (see image) or hanged on a wall. If require, there is a nominal £5/$6 for the fitting of an appropriate fixture and/or £5/$6 for a felt backing. Alternatively the work could be mounted on a piece of wood or in a bespoke frame. This is one of a series of such panels, influenced by the stained glass pattern book, others of which may be found on the website. A piece such as this will take anywhere up to 30+ hours from start to finish when all stages of the process are factored in - particularly the application and painting of the underglazes and coloured glazes when so many different colours are used.

I have been a ceramicist for more than 30 years. 99% of my work is made using coils, slabs and pinch pots with the occasional use of extruded forms and aslip casting. The emphasis of my work is scupltural and ornamental rather than utlitarian. I have a particular interest in the fusing and melding of glass to ceramics and this body of work is collected from as far afield as the Middle East and USA.
