DR, TOM CRETNEY & NICK SIMPSON A Protest in Silence Sculpture

DR staged an investigation into the world of the under appreciated and down trodden through class systems and governmental probing. By exploring a world ran by the corporate empires in a fragile climate where situations make the voice of the modern man small at best and advertising takes control prompting spending at every occasion; DR took their fragile dystopia a negative working life which is propped up by an influenced need to purchase. DR turned their suppression into a text influenced performance which used direct quotes from the artist’s consciousness which placed large scale advertising style sculptures in the main High Street forcing consumers to engage with a confrontational questioning of a capitalist lifestyle.
