About The Artwork

Gustav Klimt and I have at least one thing in common - love for golden colour and the energy it creates. I have created a very interesting relationship with gold. At the time I was first introduced to this artist I was also introduced to the church. My mum would take me to our local orthodox church, and that would be second time after Klimt that I would be surrounded by gold - since that is style of the inside of Orthodox churches. My mum would always say that when you go to church - you speak to God inside you. So you speak to your own self in the environment that is encouraging this conversation. So I, being a little kid, connected all of that with gold and treated Klimt's art like a church of sorts. 'The place' you go to when you want to escape reality and surround yourself with warm light of golden energy and talk to yourself about anything you like. So having grown up, after I have already agreed with my passion for glass and enamel technique, one day I was looking at Gustav Klimt's 'The Kiss' and I saw it so very clearly. The symbolism and colours would look painfully beautiful with my enamel technique. And the decision came quickly - I would enhance the gold by using both enamel paints and contouring techniques with multiple layers and use more colours than the original painting to make this artwork captivate viewers and create this experience that I had as a kid - another reality where you could escape to and think all one wants about anything they want. I will respect the original concept and would work with elements around it, like background, or within it, like colours and symbols. Glass art and enamel techniques is, without a doubt, best viewed face to face as the glossy finish of paints and texture created with contours can only be fully appreciated by the naked eye. However, I hope I inspire someone even through the screen like I was inspired myself through the pages of my illustration book.

I have been in love with glass from a very childhood. Born and grown up in Estonia, I have studied the basics of art and learnt all the traditional techniques. After I moved to UK in pursuit of my dreams I slowly came back to my childhood obsession and started my journey with glassart. What is it about my art? - If you appreciate bright colours, beautiful texture and detail in the artwork, then I guarantee I am your artist Why my art? - Thee goal I set when I start is to create a world in my artwork, a second reality of sorts - filled with beauty and warm light that one can almost feel on his\her skin. I want to give people this beautiful space where they can escape any time. The amount of detail in my artworks helps one's imagination to get started and takes him\her on an incredible journey. Some people said that they could not tell at times whether they have been looking at the painting for 2 minutes or 2 hours - and that is an experience I am offering you.
