About The Artwork
The 'Ram Skull Study' print was taken from an observational drawing made in preparation for the painting 'La Prière de la Nature (Nature's Prayer). In the painting, the skull replaced a religious icon as part of a street shrine (like those I saw on the street of Florence, Italy). The natural world is asking for us to take notice of its plight, and show due respect for its existence. The skull represents the tipping point of extinction.
