This print uses the etching technique of intaglio; I have also incorporated the Chine collé method, which adds color to the work by applying hand-made mulberry bark paper from Thailand (Brand-Unryu during the printing process. I used oil-based Charbonnel black printer’s ink on Rives BFK white paper (both manufactured in France).

The image – from a photograph in The Library of Congress { Washington, DC - Highsmith (Carol M.) Archive } – the sculpture of a nude angel outside The Havana Capitol, built from April 1, 1926-1929. After the 1959 Revolution, the Capitol became the headquarters of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba and then the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment.

The image size is nine inches high by six inches wide (22.5 cm x 15 cm); paper/print size is fifteen inches high by eleven inches wide (31.8 cm x 37.5 cm). Frame size is sixteen inches high by twelve inches wide (41 cm by 31 cm); weight given is an estimated one. This is from the FIRST EDITION of THREE (limited to ten prints per edition.)
