This photography was taken in the largest salt flat in the world, named Salar de Uyuni, in Bolivia. In the summer there is a brief period of rain in which the flats get covered in a thin sheet of water. This provides a giant mirror for reflecting the sky. I wanted to capture the light and colors and not focus on the landscape so I used intentional camera movement with long exposure to create this abstract atmosphere. I am a big fan of Mark Rothko's painting and I wanted to express the color and emotions associated with it rather than realistic details. This is a limited edition, 2 of 8 prints. All prints are signed, numbered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. I can also customize the size of the print to suit your space. If you interested in other sizes please drop a line at rodrigo@rodrigomakray.com so I can upload the size you wish on SaatchiArt's website. This is the canvas version but it is also available on paper on request. When printed in canvas there is a 6cm border in order to stretch on a wooden chassis and frame. When printed on paper the white border is 3cm. I always use fine art canvas or paper from either Hahnemühle or Canson.

Born in London, England (1979) and based in São Paulo, Brazil. I like to explore both natural and urban landscapes to capture the uniqueness of them. My "Architexture" series focuses on the hidden patterns, textures and geometrical shapes and volumes that are present in everyday architecture. Meanwhile, my "Horizons" series attempts to capture the abstract nature of landscapes and explore colors and the emotions associated with them.
