About The Artwork
This collection of surfers were photographed at Linda Mar Surf Break in Northern California. After experimenting with indigo and shibori dyeing, I decided to use Rose Madder dye and lighten up my pallette. This is from a new series entitled Rose Madder Surf Quilts. Each photo is printed on washi rice paper, hand dyed and sewn with line thread. It tells a story of joy, freedom, the surfing life, light, water and sky.
