Recomposition No. 11 is a piece from the New York City BAUHAUS: Oculus series that combines digital painting with photography. The artwork, born from this unique blend, presents a geometrical composition showcasing the iconic Oculus building in downtown New York City. The photograph, a vital component of the composition, infuses the piece with texture, light, and historical elements, inviting you to delve deeper into the artistic process. My exploration of cultures, humanity, and landscape led me to create a more profound meaning and narrative. The rhythm and fluidity of the space intrigued me, leading to the interpretation of the small rectangles, seemingly suspended in the air, as marks of the shattering or the rebuilding process. They embody the transient nature of life and the constant cycle of destruction and creation. The black lines, forming stairs, represent the gradual and resilient process of recovery and ascent from tragedy or blockage. They represent the human spirit's ability to overcome obstacles and move forward, even in the face of adversity. Finally, I harnessed the power of the color scheme to forge a personal connection with the artwork. The bold reds and deep blues evoke the American spirit, reflecting patriotism and collective strength. They invite a deeper emotional engagement with the piece, making you feel a part of the narrative it weaves.

I am a New Yorker from Queens. When I started drawing in my teenage years, my father taught me to look at the architecture of Bucharest, Romania, with a keen eye for perspective, balance, and proportions. Analytic perception has accompanied me ever since. Arriving in New York City, my photographic interest turned to the city's signature architecture. I systematically explored specific themes, such as the effects of light or the perception of waves. I have exhibited my artwork in group shows at the Huntington Arts Council in New York (2020), LIK Gallery in Vienna (2021), and online at the Visual Artists Association in London (2023). My latest work, "New York City Bauhaus," explores trans-artistic movements in the US. One piece was included in a juried exhibition at The CENTER for Contemporary Art in Bedminster, NJ (early 2024), and another was displayed at the Atlantic Gallery in NYC in March 2024.
