This photo was taken during the heatwave in September 2016. I wanted to take the classic tourist shot of New York from the Top of the Rock, this is possibly the most famous photo opportunity in the world, and then I wanted to turn the image into something that really captured the feeling of the hot city. With the sounds, the buzz and even the smell of the dry hot air rising up from the street. I knew I'd forget if I didn't try to get it down somehow.
