Liberation Photograph

I'm an 'extra mature' student in my 2nd year at MMU specialising in painting. I sometimes like to mix painting with technology and other mixed media.
I'm quite active in humanist issues which feature heavily and reflect in my work. I make no apology for this and intend my art to have a voice...my voice.

I do not make art to sell and feel this affords me the opportunity to be more expressive. I count myself lucky to have the freedom to do this. I know my work is seen as political and even sensationalist and this can irritates art purists but they are not my priority or concern. I am working creatively through issues which effect me emotionally. The whole process from beginning to end is totally enlightening to me and I continue to learn everyday in so many ways.
