Gretel Sarmiento Anders is a Havana-born writer/artist living in the United States since 1999. She has written for several South Florida newspapers and self-published two books of poems: Platos Rotos (Broken Dishes) and The Doubters Said. These days she spends her time painting, experimenting with photography and writing for Palm Beach ArtsPaper, a cultural magazine that covers local art. The inspiration feeding her work derives from music, literature, film and her childhood.
