About The Artwork

Kissing camels Oman Portfolio Premium Quality Print, signed, numbered and dated on mount card, and on rear of print. Limited Edition 5 of 50 Mounted on creamy white mount card. Print size is 16.5 inches (H) x 23.5 inches (W). With mount card, overall size is 21.5" x 28.5". Shipped flat in cardboard box with Certificate of Authenticity. I took this photograph on color film using a Canon camera on the edge of the Empty Quarter (Rubb al-Khali) in Dhofar in the Sultanate of Oman. Several friends and I had traveled to this remote part of Dhofar in our Jeep Cherokees in order to camp out and experience the desert sands first hand. On our way to the dunes we had passed a small fenced off area where a local bedu was keeping some of his camels from straying. I was particularly enamored by the behavior of these two camels. It is very rare to see camels like this, so I had to capture their mood and emotions. A copy of this photo used to hang over the bed of a former Dhofari colleague of mine in Salalah! Keywords: Middle East, Dhofar, Oman, Sultanate of Oman, GCC, Arabia, Arab, Empty Quarter, Rubb al Khali, brown, blue.
