Island 38 - Limited Edition of 21 Photograph

As one of the last landscape images produced in the Island series, Island 38 is also one of the most diverse. The main tree was inspired from studies of an old cherry tree that grew in Clark Park, in East Vancouver. A noticeable shift in the landscape is apparent. Initially the project began in New York studying rooftop gardens, Central Park and other artificial constructs of Nature. After Fizz's move to Vancouver the landscape evolved, inspired by nursing trees and old growth forest, to consider Natures complete cycle of life, death, decay and rebirth. The cibachrome photographic print became discontinued at this point in the project and much work was done to match the colours using the fujiflex print.
