About The Artwork

From the Series “Huejotzingo Carnival” During this two year journey, as an observer, living the party, as if I was part of it (body and soul) and being prepared for this fascination for their popular past and it´s monumental impact in the relation between history and popular traditions. The iron, the party, the paradox that it promotes it´s not strange, it´s not so much the past but rather than displacement of past objects, which implies their relocation and reúne and therefore, their transformación into this reality of popular culture. ------------------------------------------------ You can find more information and more images of this series and more visual art at www.antonioolmedo.com.mx ------------------------------------------------ Printed edition without frame: 2/10 Limited to an edition of 10 regardless of size. I was born in Tulancingo, Hidalgo, Mexico. I now live in Mexico City. My work explores the combination of ideas that go through architecture and plastic art, feeling the need go place the human figure at the center of everything, thinking about space as an experience, this is a starting point for creation, to touch the senses, freedom and the human body. I use photography as a tool to experiment with digital and analog, with figuration and reality, I play with scales and experiments with objects with materials, such as painting ad sculpture, finishing the work with a intervened photograph with plastic techniques or digital, transforming images into dreams that are never related to each other, seeking to transfer ghosts to sensualism, using any pretense to tell a dream trapped between space and the senses.
