About The Artwork
To feel at home is to feel safe; it is to know that things are in their place. Each person has several objects, which augment their personal autobiography and the placement of these objects allows them to negotiate a sense of belonging in a place outside what they previously called home. I'm interested in the way individuals use objects to negotiate their interior space, their nesting ground, in an increasingly geographically fractured existence.

Francesca Marcaccio (1981) is an Italian visual artist based in London. Her first degree is in History of Contemporary Art from the University of Florence, and she studied Photography at the Centre of Contemporary Photography Martino Marangoni in Florence, Italy. In 2011 she obtained the Photo editing and Iconographic Research Degree from CPF Bauer, Milan, Italy. She is currently about to finish a MA in Photography at London College of Communication at The University of Arts of London.
