In my portrait series, my models are placed behind a transparent plastic sheet smudged all over with objects like sliced turlip, cotton swap and tapes, objects that are endowed with certain purposes but exploited here for a totally different purpose. The result is a semi-transparent pane through which the photographer can only but discern the model, while the model, on the other hand, is oblivious of the presence of the photographer. Under which situation where the seen does not perceive the presence of a watchful audience, the model assumes a blank, almost clueless expression. But that which is also an assured, almost calm one.
